Andy Sachs, President

Andy Sachs is an attorney at Bennett Bigelow & Leedom where he practices healthcare litigation, representing hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare providers.  Andy also maintains a commercial and intellectual property litigation practice, as well as dedicating time to an active pro bono practice that focuses on cases involving dependent children and termination of parental rights.  In addition to his position on the QLaw Board, he currently sits on the Board of Directors for Equal Rights Washington and Washington State CASA.



Christine Sanders, President-Elect 

Christine is a litigator at Gordon Thomas Honeywell.  Prior to practicing law, Christine lived in New Mexico where she was a massage therapist in private practice, with special certification in oncology massage. Today, she has an active commercial litigation practice, representing both individuals and businesses in a range of disputes, including real estate, employment, suretyship and receivership, insurance coverage, and premises liability.  She is also chair of the QLaw Issues Advocacy Committee, a member of the QLaw Foundation’s GLBT Legal Clinic Publicity Subcommittee, and co-chair of the WYLD Committee for Diversity. 



Kelly Moser, Vice President

Kelly is an attorney in the Environment & Natural Resources group at Perkins Coie.  Prior to joining Perkins Coie, Kelly was an Honors Attorney for the United States Department of Justice, Environment and Natural Resources division, and clerked for the late Honorable William Benson Bryant at the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.  Kelly is the chair of the Qlaw Banquet Committee.  She and her partner live in Ballard with their four dogs.


Barb Rhoads-Weaver, Treasurer

Barb is a litigator with her own practice.  She formerly litigated with Bullivant Houser Bailey and was a law clerk for Justice Tom Chambers of the Washington Supreme Court.  She and her wife Heather and son Luca make their home on Vashon Island.



Michael Sclafani, Secretary

Michael is the Director of Annual Giving for Seattle University School of Law.


Amanda Beane, Director

Amanda Beane is an attorney at Perkins Coie LLP where she focuses her practice on intellectual property litigation, antitrust & consumer protection matters, and general commercial litigation.  She and her partner, Anne, have six children.  They are also active in the foster care system, serving both as parents to several foster children and as mentors to other foster parents.  Amanda and Anne live in Seattle.

Jason Mills, Director

 

Jason is a native Seattleite and an Attorney in the Legal and Corporate Affairs group at Microsoft Corporation.  Jason joined Microsoft in 2008 and currently represents MSN and MSN Mobile.  Prior to joining Microsoft, Jason was an associate first at Davis Wright Tremaine in Seattle and then at Nixon Peabody in Los Angeles, working primarily in corporate transactions and technology licensing.  He earned his J.D. at the University of Michigan and his B.A. in Finance and Communications at Seattle University. 


 

  

Lisa Gilmore, Director

Lisa practices family law at Helsell Fetterman LLP.  When not at work or busy recruiting new QLAW members, she can be found volunteering with the King County Bar Association Domestic Violence Clinic.  She and her partner Larysa enjoy spending time outdoors, playing soccer, going to Storm games and playing with their Bull Terrier, Bodger.

Michael Heath, Director

Mike practices as a technology transactions attorney with CoreCloudEdge Law Group PLLCHe previously practiced law at Cairncross & Hempelmann and at Dorsey & Whitney.  Mike co-founded and served as QLaw's first President from '05  to '07.  He is a 2005 graduate of the WSBA Leadership Institute and former law clerk to Justice Mary Fairhurst.  Mike is also the proud recipient of the 2009 WSBA Excellence in Diversity Award.  When not working on QLAW matters, he enjoys soccer spending time with lab/chow mix, Tico.

 Cynthia Buhr, Director, Immediate Past President

Cynthia is a partner with Spencer Anderson & Buhr PLLC, where she has an active family law practice.  She is also on the board of the QLaw Foundation and a 2009 WSBA Leadership Institute Fellow. When not volunteering her time to QLaw , she can be seen riding her bike around Seattle.
