QLaw Foundation GLBT Legal Clinic
Call for Volunteers & Announcement of GLBT Law from A to Z CLE
The GLBT Bar Association of Washington Foundation, in cooperation with the King County Bar Association Neighborhood Legal Clinics and Equal Rights Washington, are excited to announce the addition of a new legal clinic designed to address the unique and complex legal needs of the LGBT community in King County. The clinic will be open one evening a month.
We are currently recruiting volunteer attorneys to meet with clients in 30-minute sessions. We are looking for attorneys who will commit to volunteer at the clinic twice over the course of six months. Volunteer attorneys are required to attend an upcoming CLE that will cover several broad topics of concern to the LGBT community. The CLE will take place Friday, June 5th. An agenda may be found here. The CLE is approved for 4.25 general and 1.5 ethics credits.
CLE: GLBT Law from A to Z
Friday, June 5th, 8:30 to 4:30.
The QLaw At Risk Youth Project is seeking volunteers to participate in a pro bono program providing legal assistance to youth who are leaving foster care. A disproportionate number of these youth are LGBTQ. Training materials and mentoring/assistance are available to lawyers interested in pro bono representation of youth through this program. Please email Michael Heath at AtRiskYouth@q-law.org for details.
